Air Astana’s Stopover Holidays Programme

There are three things you need to know about Kazakhstan: it is a former Soviet Republic; it is one of the largest oil producing country in the world; and it is simply stunning.

The country has been going through significant changes since the capital was moved from Almaty to Astana. Today, dubbed the Singapore of Central Asia, both Almaty and Astana have become popular among those travelling via Air Astana as a brief stopover en route to the Far East.

Air Astana transit passengers traveling through Astana or Almaty with a minimum of a ten-hour connection downtime can enjoy the benefit of the Stopover Holidays. This programme was specifically designed to provide transit passengers with a chance to discover the wonderful cities of Almaty and Astana.

This Stopover Holidays package includes one night stay in a variety of 3-4 star hotels in both Almaty (Ramada Almaty, Kazzhol Almaty, Holiday Inn Almaty & Kazakhstan Hotel) and Astana (Kazzhol, Park Inn, Ramada Plaza & Ibis), buffet breakfast and transfers to and from the airport.

You can chose from among a wide array of tours and trips around the cities, designed specifically to provide an insight on the city highlights for the international visitors. This, for example, includes visit to Baiterek monument and Astana tower in Astana and St. Voznesensky Cathedral and visit to the monument of Independence in Almaty. Not only that, but the programme also offers a day out option in Almaty, which includes golfing at Nurtau and Zhailau, trekking in Small Almaty Gorge and mountain biking in Assy Valley.

If you choose to extend your stay and pays full price of the second day – you will be given an option to take a complimentary seasonal tour (Shymbulak or Arasan baths in Almaty, National Museum in Astana).

The Stopover programme is not available in Astana from the 1st of June till the 30th of September. Bookings can be made on the official website airastana.com, with the starting price set as low as USD1.
